This policy explains how returns, refunds, and order fulfillment work when you order from Smokey News (“Smokey News,” “we,” “us”) for in-store pickup or on-demand local delivery. Because we sell age-restricted tobacco and nicotine products, some of these terms differ from a typical online store.
Final-sale items
For health and safety reasons, many tobacco, nicotine, and vape products are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged once they leave the store or are handed off at delivery. This includes, where applicable, cigars, cigarettes, hookah and shisha, vapes and e-liquids, and any opened, used, or unsealed product. These items cannot be restocked or resold once they have left our control.
Defective or incorrect items
If you receive an item that is defective, damaged, or different from what you ordered, contact us within 48 hoursof pickup or delivery. Keep the item and any packaging, and have your order details ready. After we verify the issue, we’ll arrange a replacement of the same item or a refund to your original payment method. Manufacturer defects may also be subject to the manufacturer’s own warranty.
In-store pickup
- A valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older is required at pickup. The name and age must match; expired, altered, or non-matching ID will result in a refused order.
- Orders are prepared and held at 1311 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale. Please pick up the same day, within our posted hours (Mon–Sat 9 AM–9 PM · Sun 9 AM–8 PM).
- If an order is not collected within our hold window, or cannot be age-verified at pickup, we may cancel it and refund any eligible (non-final-sale) charges to your original payment method.
On-demand delivery
- A valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older is verified at the door. The recipient must be present and of legal age.
- Orders are never left unattended. We will not leave an order at a door, with a neighbor, or with anyone who cannot pass age verification.
- The delivery address must be within our serviceable delivery zone — across Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding Broward neighborhoods, and within the State of Florida. We deliver locally only; we do not ship or deliver across state lines.
- If the recipient fails age verification, is intoxicated, or no eligible adult is available to receive the order, the courier will not complete the delivery. In that case the order may be canceled and any eligible (non-final-sale) charges refunded to your original payment method. Delivery fees for a completed dispatch may be non-refundable.
Payment & refund timing
Payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically post within several business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Delivery fees, tips, and courier charges may be non-refundable once a delivery has been dispatched.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. Orders that have not yet been prepared or dispatched can usually be canceled and refunded. Once an order is fulfilled, final-sale terms above apply.
